Tanzanian Bongo Flava/Hip Hop artist Ambwene Yessayah, better known by his stage name, AY has decided to venture outside his music and start his own Tours and Travel company. The new company is inspired by his own son, Aviel, and will take on the brand name Aviel Safaris.
This comes just a few weeks after controversial Bongo musician and one of AY’s closest friends, MwanaFA, started his own perfume company which is behind the popular deodorant, Fyn by Falsafa. Fyn by Falsafa is a pleasant body spray that’s quickly catching on in the market and measuring competitively against Diamond’s Chibu perfumes.
AY is among the first Bongo artists whose music went international and his musical career has been a big success. Being one of the pioneers in the Bongo music industry, the Safari hitmaker is easily a trendsetter by local music standards. He has won multiple awards thanks to his creative music while still inspiring the new generation in modern music.
Today, many celebrities are finding new places to invest their money outside their music and business seems like the way to go for most of them. Vanessa Mdee, for instance, runs a successful shoe business in Tanzania while Ali Kiba owns a beverage company which is responsible for the Mofaya energy drink. We are also seeing socialites like Zari Hassan and Wema Sepetu open new businesses and finding new ways to ensure their pockets stay full.
AY’s new company, Aviel Safaris, will deal exclusively with travelling and a certainly a good place for him to start. The Tours and Travel is already making headlines on local mainstream media and it’s clear that AY’s favor in people is not lost yet.
