It has now emerged that the late Lydia Wahura sent an e-mail to his brother and a few other close friends detailing why she wanted to take her own life.
The part of the mail shared with the brother and the close friends captured her as very sorry but more scared to live.
“I am so so so so sorry but I don’t expect forgiveness. I am scared of dying but I am more scared of living…Life is not what I expected.” read part of the mail.
Wahura died on Saturday June 12, 2021 at the hospital’s parking lot shortly after 9AM when she left for her car after reporting for classes.
Autopsy reports showed that her death was caused by chemicals administered into the body, with further samples taken to the government chemist to ascertain the exact drugs used.
“The post mortem was done and we have already ascertained the death was caused by chemicals. Some samples have also been taken for analysis to a government chemist to know the type of drugs that she administered in her body,” Mbogo stated.
At the time of her death, Wahura was a post graduate medical student at the University of Nairobi College of Health Sciences.
Her body would later be found lying on the back seat of her car by the facility security head George Onyango.
The body was later transferred to the Chiromo mortuary for preservations, with her fellow students heaping praises on her as a brilliant girl, always recording good performance.
