Kenya’s King of rap Khaligraph Jones has opened up on a time he was booed off stage back when he was starting off in 2012.
Taking to his Instagram, the OG posted a picture on the god-forsaken stage where fans took his celebrated gift for granted.
“This is around 2012, The Night I was Booed off stage cause The crowd didn’t believe that a Kenyan Rapper could rap so Good, They thought I was performing Eminem and Jay-z Songs smh, The OG shall be respected,” said the rapper.
His throwback post has moved fans to continue cheering him on.
Dennisketone said, “Now it’s Official they can truly confirm that #NoHumanIsLimited and they have no otherwise but to #respecttheogs.”
Papa Jones has clearly had his fair share of rejection before getting to his current status of fame.
This is not the first time Khaligraph Jones has opened up about his struggle to the top.
Trying to make ends meet, Khali took up a number of shoddy jobs such as garbage collection and club security (bouncer) while grooming his musical talent on the side.
He revealed that things were so hard, back in the day, that he was forced to go back to his motherland ‘Bondo’ to restrategize.
He is now living better than he could have imagined due to his persistence. He never gave up on pursuing his dream and in return, his dream didn’t give up on him.
