“We are elated to see the big thread of names and quite inspired to see new upcoming artists from Across Africa taking up center-stage and claiming critical space. This is exactly the spirit of the awards which we needed to see”, Said
Dr. Fred Simiyu, the Chairman of the Kisima Music & Film awards.
This year the Pan African Kisima Music & Film Awards was presided over by a Pan-African Jury made up of Music and Film Experts from across the Continent.
The judges were from different African countries encompassing Kenya, Benin, Nigeria, Mozambique and Rwanda.
The blend of the Jury takes into consideration the Anglophone, francophone and Lusophone diversities of the submissions into the awards. In this new Pan-Africa infusion, every part of the
continent in their language diversity is represented.
Today, the release of the list of Nominees paves way for the final stage of the Awards process that opens up to the public voting.
The Public is therefore called upon to aggressively and actively participate in voting for their favorite artist and enhance their chances of winning in the final Awards ceremony.
The public voting period ends December 12, when the votes are tallied and the final winners announced the following day.
