Sandra Khan well known as Binti Kiziwi had been in jail for 7 years.
She went to jail when she was 22 years old and was recently released.
The first time I landed in the airport I was so happy, I shed tears of joy. My son, mother and my relatives came to pick me
None of Sandra’s relatives went to see her while she was incarcerated for a little over 7 years because she did not want any of them to see her in that challenging state.
This is because, it would have hurt her even more.

Sandra was arrested at a Chinese airport after she was found with drugs in her stomach.
She found herself in that situation because of temptations and peer pressure from her friends.
Being there for me was so hard firstly because it was so far from home, the environment was different and also because I was so different from the people I met there.
She had left behind her child who – at the time – was 2 years old and that is what stressed her most.
However, Sandra not only used to talk to her monthly but also used to send her letters weekly.
The letters used to be read to her and she started replying them when she became of age and used to tell me not to worry that God will help me come back home
Sandra used to pray that God may protect her child and family and she thanks God she returned and found them safe.
She had to tell her son the truth about what exactly had happened to her and why she wasn’t with him for all those years.
I don’t want my son to hear from people that your mum did this and that. Hence why I had to face my son and tell him the truth.
