It was a night of thousand surprises as the gospel industry gathered at the Serena Hotel to unveil the 2020 winners of the Impact Gospel Awards.
Touted as ushering in a new dawn in the space the award show picked winners based on their track record on integrity, excellence and creativity.

A brain child of the Hifadhi Talanta Africa, the awards stayed true to their promise to shock the system by awarding based on impact and not the trends.
“We need gospel artists to realize that they can use their digital platforms for impact, not just to trend and make a name for themselves, that’s why we introduced the online content influencer of the year,” HTA founder, Violet Wanjala.

Reuben KigameSpeaking at the event artist of the year winner Reuben Kigame called for the music industry to embrace the concept of academy awards because vote based awards have a tendency to promote mediocrity. He said
“No one wants to be attended to by an unqualified doctor, in the same way no one wants to listen to a quack gospel musician. We must all ask ourselves when our time on earth is over what shall we leave behind when it’s all said and done.”
