Just moments after terrorists stormed into the Dusit D2 Hotel in Nairobi, the entire Riverside area has been under tension as police and detectives try to evacuate the area and save the hostages. Gospel singer, Willy Paul who was in the hotel during the attack has shared a video on Instagram sharing with his fans how he survived.
The attack at the Dusit D2 hotel happened just a few hours after lunch when the terrorists dropped their first bomb outside the hotel. This was perhaps meant to cause panic and many people in the area rushed out the save themselves.
Westlands area is not new to terror attacks. Just a few weeks years ago, Somalian notorious terrorist group, Alshabab took control of the Westgate mall, an attack that left hundreds of hostages dead and the destruction of the entire building. While it’s still not clear who is behind the Riverside attack, many are speculating that it could be the Alshabab.
As police rush to the scene to save people, many who were in the Riverside area have confirmed that there are still people hiding in the building. More hostages who are hiding in the Dusit D2 hotel have shared on social media what is currently happening.
Among the many rumors going around is that the recent Riverside attack at the Dusit hotel could have something to do with the terrorists suspects who were arrested during the Westgate terror attack. The three suspects were just released last week and coincidentally, another attack just happened in the same area.
Willy Paul who was lucky enough to escape the Riverside attack without any harm has shared his gratefulness for managing to escape the scene. He has also asked his fans to pray for the hostages in the Dusit building .
